Adventure Bike Camp - MADISON

August 22, 2022 9:00 am - August 26, 2022 4:30 pm

202 S Pinckney St, Madison, WI 53703, USA

We are excited to be offering Adventure Bike Day Camps based out of the Madison Bicycle Center (202 S. Pinckney St. Madison, WI 53703)

Experience Madison by bike, and learn to be a safe, independent cyclist. Travel via the Capital City Trail, Southwest Commuter Path, Cannonball Path and more to explore the lakes, UW Arboretum, parks, local shops, and the city's hidden gems!

Camp runs 9am-4:30pm MON- FRI (supervised early drop-off at starting at 8:30am; supervised late pick up until 5pm)
Open to rising 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students.

Must know how to ride a bike and be comfortable riding and being outside with a bike all day (with rests at fun stops). Safe riding techniques from our Bicycle Driver's Ed curriculum will be the focus the first couple of days along with short rides becoming longer towards the end of the week as the group progresses and gains more confidence and skill. Some of our previous campers have ridden up to 35 miles in a day!

Participants must bring their own bike, helmet and water bottle, lunch and a backpack/panniers for carrying food and personal gear. While our staff are able to make minor fixes or adjustments we strongly encourage your child's bike to be looked over by a local bike shop prior to the bike camp.

Special snacks at some rest stops (think ice cream!) and extra water refills will be provided.

Camp is led by Caitlin Hussey, Bike Fed's Education and Engagement Manager. Caitlin was trained on bike safety education with our award winning Milwaukee education team and has been implementing Safe Routes to School Programs in Madison since July 2021.
